Selecting the right architect is as important as finding the best builder. Whether you select your own architect or ask Peckham to provide you with one, the architect should have the same qualities and work ethic as the builder. At Peckham, we have worked with many architects and believe we have found the best, most innovative architects in this area that can provide you with that “one of a kind” design. Our recommendation of an architect will be made to you based on the size, quality and style of home you seek to build.

In selecting an architect, we suggest you review the following:

• How well so they listen to what you want and have planned?
• How do they bill: by the square foot, by the hour, a flat fee or as a % of construction costs.
• What do their services include? What other services do they offer?
• Are mechanical drawings models or site surveys included in the fee?
• Will the architect be readily available during the construction and completion phase of the project?
• Will the architect be easy to work with? If you find the architect is easy to work with, it will likely mean the architect can work in partnership with your builder.
